ARTIST OF THE WEEK: Jihae

Soul

South Korean born singer Jihae Kim is a force to be reckoned with. The indie rock artist signed a demo deal with Atlantic Records and London records, yet she proceeded to independently release her music to keep creative control. Soon after the songwriter started Septem, a company whose sole purpose was music production and social based projects.  The multimedia artist released several of her albums under Septum including “Elvis Is Still Alive” and her rock opera Fire Burning Rain, a tale of a heroine’s journey, based off of Joan of Arc.

Kim has also been known to preform for many social causes like “Simon Says For Peace” a peace movement that Jihae created herself to give a voice to kids who don’t have one, like child soldiers.

More recently Kim has teamed up with English music producer David A Stewart  (known for working with Stevie Nicks and Joss Stone) for her latest album “Illusions Of You” set to be released some time this year. For now you can check out some our favorite Jihae tracks below!
